Journeys by Design provide a complete travel solution. We tailor distinctive African journeys to the needs of a select handful of clients and families each year.
Our success rests upon the unique and distinctive style of our safaris, and the personal attention paid to each. Not only do we use the finest camps, parks and wildlife guides in east and southern Africa, but we also explore and promote the lesser-known frontiers of this vast safari continent.
The choice is almost limitless. We have tried (with the tabs on the left) to summarise the various safari styles that we currently tailor to suit specific interests. All the countries on our portfolio cater for families, and while, for reasons of safety and suitability, there are still areas, treks and lodges that do not take children below a certain age, these are far and few between. The growth in demand for journeys that ensure a high standard of privacy has seen a proliferation in houses that are luxurious, well placed and able to cater for the most specific of needs. Given many of the countries' extraordinary coastlines, the beach has become an integral part of any journey's itinerary, and, once again, the accommodation and activities offered are of the highest standard. Finally, the quality of the journey into wild Africa is very much the reason why we do what we do.
We want Africa to make its mark on its visitors, and to do this it needs to be seen in a way that both showcases and preserves its beauty. To this end, the tented safari - underpinned by the knowledge of an excellent guide - represents for us one of the most intimate and non-invasive ways to see and be among wild animals. However, whatever shape the itinerary takes, the emphasis is always on what you would like to do. Our journeys are one-offs, designed in consultation with the prospective traveller. As well as making the most of today's technological advances, we also believe, when designing a journey like this, in the importance of face-to-face contact, in you getting a feel for who we are, which is why we often travel to meet our clients prior to creating an itinerary. |
