Located on the award winning Bwejuu Beach, on the south-eastern coast of Zanzibar, The Palms Hotel is a first rate beach resort.
Exclusive, tranquil, with just six thatched villas, The Palms' shared area includes a blue-tiled open air swimming pool, two bars and restaurants, a spa with a sea-view and palm-filled gardens. Inside, the décor consists of dark-grain wood and soft antique furnishings, which change colour on a daily basis – from cream whites to earthy browns – giving the place an authentically colonial feel.
A stay at The Palms Hotel is full board, encompassing breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and both alcoholic and soft drinks. With two eating areas, guests are rather spoilt: there's the pool-side Pool Bar & Restaurant, serving a selection of daily specials for lunch; and there's the Plantation House, home to the main bar and dining area. Both Pool Bar & Restaurant and Plantation House serve a fine selection of house wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. The chefs boast an exotic menu, capturing the eclectic clash of cultures that characterise Zanzibar, taking advantage of the island's natural fertility – with a freshly picked and freshly caught flavour and feel to the cuisine. The Palms offers indoor and outdoor dining, as well as room service.
The six villas are each over 140 square meters large, offering a bedroom, living room, full en-suite bathroom, dressing room, an extra room with its own en-suite bathroom and a large furnished terrace looking out to the sea. A real highlight, the four poster Zanzibar beds are situated next to a candle-lit plunge pools, and each villa comes with a satellite TV and DVD player, a mini bar, safe deposit box, standing personal bar, phone and air conditioning.
Guests of The Palms Hotel have access to the neighbouring Breezes Beach Club, which offers a multitude of activities, including the Frangipani Spa, one of Zanzibar's finest spas. Also available are marine and beach activities, scuba diving, tours and an aerobics and fitness centre.
Please be advised that The Palms has a no children policy.
